I had the opportunity to specify my first Ice Stone counter-top at the beginning of 2010. I partnered up with a fellow Designer, Renee Carman of Mandeville Canyon Designs, to feature a one-of-a-kind Adult-Focused Community Center in Wells, Maine. The creative design approach was to incorporate the feeling of being embraced by the ocean.

Ice Stone Counter-top “Sky Pearl” was designated for the reception counter-top and work surface. I was intrigued by the light blue & tan colored pieces of glass. To me, the tan pieces of glass represented seashells with pearl shimmery accents.

Ice Stone is the most healthy and environmentally responsible material on the market – Whether applied as counter-tops, vanities, wall cladding, or flooring, IceStone is an ideal surface for LEED*(below) registered projects. These recycled glass and cement slabs are 100% free of harmful plastics, toxic resins, and VOCs. Ice Stone is Cradle to Cradle Gold certified, made in Brooklyn NY, USA and contains 100% recycled glass.

There are 28 available colors, but the palette is infinite. Custom color options are available for commercial projects only.
*LEED is an internationally recognized green building certification system, providing third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at improving performance across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts. The United States Green Building Council (USGBC) created the LEED rating system.
